Fredrick Earl Nelson, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away May 10, 2020 in Plano, Texas at the age of 85. He was born November 25, 1934, in Corsicana, Texas to parents, George Thomas Nelson and Lorene Lincoln Nelson.

He attended schools in Dallas, Texas graduating from Sunset High School in 1953 where he played baseball and football and was a member of the 1950 State Championship Football team. He attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls, Texas where he also played football.
He served in the United States Marine Corps in California and South Korea and was a member of the San Diego Marine football team. Following his discharge, he returned to Dallas and entered the casualty insurance field working in Texas, North Carolina, Arizona, California and Oregon.
After retirement, he settled in Chatfield, Texas spending his time with family, hobbies such as woodworking and gardening and with lifelong friends from school and work. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.
He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart of 71 years Martha Wilson Nelson; daughters, Glynn Tracye Nelson Holt (Mike), Kathy Lynn Nelson Lozinto and Meredith Anne Nelson Black (Lynn); grandchildren, Collin Grayson, Kimberly Harrison, Emily Moss, Clarke Kincaid, Leslie Wiles, Natalie Lozinto and Garrett Black; great-grandchildren, Sam Bilger, Breanna Bilger, Ansley Grayson, Braxton Wiles, Camelia Goodman, Camryn Grayson, Brantley Moss, Rhett Wiles and Scarlett Surovik. He leaves numerous beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceeded in death by his daughter, Kelly Nelson Gordon; parents, George Thomas Nelson and Lorene Lincoln Nelson, sister, Tommye Lorene Hicks and brother, Glenn Travis Nelson.
Visitation with the family will be come and go on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 from 9:00am to noon at Corley Funeral Home. Due to the Coronavirus, a private family graveside service will be held at Prairie Point Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.
