Syble was reared in Dresden on two different farms; Aunt Jane Melton’s place and the “new farm”. She attended Blooming Grove Schools and married on August 28, 1948 at the end of her sophomore year to Victor Mills Malone of Frost. She attended church as a child at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church and Dresden United Methodist Church. In later years she attended Mertens Southern Baptist Church, Westside Baptist Church and Friendship Tower Church services. She loved to sing at church and started singing at Dresden United Methodist with her baby sister.
She was a talented seamstress. She loved to crochet and was a doll enthusiast. She collected china dolls and was known as the “Doll Lady of Corsicana”.
After her husband’s death in 1974 she completed her education and went to college. She worked for Community Services in Magnet and Childcare and later became the director of the Child Development Center until she retired.
She was a perfectionist in her cooking and handwork and her greatest loves were her Lord and Savior, her husband, her children, her family and friends. She was content with what she had but was always wanting more for her family and friends. She spent three of the last years of her life on Aunt Jane’s farm where most of the Melton children were born.
