Julius Lawrence Soileau, 89, of Corsicana, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 13, 2019. Julius was born on May 15, 1930 in Oberlin, Louisiana to the late Lawrence and Media Soileau.

After graduating from Mamou High School, Julius joined the Air Force in 1947 and served in the Alaskan Region until 1951. Julius’s Air Force Service led to his working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Weather Service in the New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas headquarters until his retirement in 1986.
Julius and Irene married on April 25, 1953 and together raised a family of six children. Julius was a devout Catholic and active member of the church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Julius was devoted to family, and he often took the family to visit his parents, in-laws, siblings, and other relatives. Julius was also an avid sportsman, frequently taking the family on camping trips and participating in golfing tournaments throughout the United States. After his retirement Julius and Irene settled in Corsicana in 2003. Julius will be fondly remembered for his loving, amicable, generous, compassionate, and fun-loving nature.
Julius is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Irene Marie Soileau.
Julius is survived by his six children, Marla Soileau Simons of Huntsville, Texas, Vicki Novotny and husband Mel of Corsicana, Michael Soileau of Durham, North Carolina, Daniel Soileau and wife Elizabeth of Pittsboro, North Carolina, James Soileau of Huntsville, Texas and Stuart Soileau and wife Anita of Honolulu, Hawaii; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Vistiation with the family will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with a rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, October 17, 2019. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 18, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Juan Carlos Marin-Cortes officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mel Novotny, Michael Soileau, Daniel Soileau, James Soileau, Stuart Soileau and Cole Simons. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
