Elven “Earl” Carpenter, 93, went to be with his Lord and Savior May 22, 2019. Earl was born in Richland, Texas on September 16, 1925 to Ernest Earl and Dora Moreau Carpenter. Earl was the eldest of seven children.

Earl is preceded in death, by his wife, Katherine “Louise” Anderson Carpenter and two children, son Jessie Carpenter and daughter Earlene Carpenter Stephens.
Earl is survived by his daughter, Evelyn Womack and husband Ken, son, Elvin D. “Buddy” Carpenter and wife, Sue, sister, Othera Barlow and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Earl left Richland at the age of 16 to work on the pipelines. He married Louise and made a home for his family in Gholson, Texas. Earl was lifelong pipeliner who traveled the world. He enjoyed making people smile by telling stories about his travels and the people he met. When Earl retired from the pipelines he came back to Richland, Texas where he raised a barnyard of various animals. Earl loved trapping and visiting the sale barns. He would never show up at your house empty handed; he always wanted to contribute. Earl enjoyed spending time with family and friends and he never met a stranger.
Earls’ family would like to express greatest gratitude to all the staff at Heritage Oaks-Legacy West for all the love and care that was given to him over the last six years. They truly became a part of his family.
Earl will be laid to rest at Richland Cemetery. Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. with Pastor Walter Libhart officiating.
