Obituary

Mr. Roy Eugene “Gene” Ingham, age 81, of Corsicana passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Navarro Regional Hospital. He was born on January 3, 1938 in Navarro County to J.D. Ingham and Letha Irene Cox Ingham.

Gene attended schools in Corsicana and graduated from Corsicana High School in 1957. He served in the Texas National Guard for many years. He loved to bow hunt, fish and listen to country music whenever possible. He worked in automotive sales most of his life. He worked at Waddell Connally beginning in 1957 and then worked at Hudson Auto Parts in Corsicana beginning in 2001 and retired from Berry Chrysler in Corsicana.

He met Maxine in 1955 and they were married in 2010. Maxine and Gene loved one another dearly and had great times together throughout their short marriage. Gene never met a stranger and all those who knew him thought the world of him.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Ingham; his daughter, Karen Lampin; his grandsons, Craig Lampin and wife Kindrah and Colby Lampin and wife Terrah. Gene is also survived by three great-granddaughters; Kaydence Lampin, Cambrie Lampin and Morgan Lampin. He is also survived by his twin brother, Dean Ingham, his nephew; Roy D. Ingham; his great-nephew, Stephen Ingham and his step-children; Jan Nichols and Mike Nichols and many step-grandchildren.

Our deepest sympathy to a dear long time friend, Gene Ingham. We lived a stones throw from the Inghams front door in Retreat. The boys were always so good to their Mom and Dad (Letha and JD) and then later to Cassie. We loved all of them and we knew they all loved us and our little girl. Our daughter, Rushell, could never tell the boys apart so all of her growing up years they were known as Dean-Gene...they never seemed to mind. Our hearts go out to Dean, Roy Dean and all the other members of this sweet family. I know JD and Letha have their arms open wide and a big smile on their faces to welcome Gene to his heavenly home. God love them! Glenn & Sherry Gullatt

My condolences to the Ingham families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Gene. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37;28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
