Marva Tarvin passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born March 30, 1938 to Kineth Arnold and Ruby White Arnold both of Waxahachie, TX.

She was raised in the Waxahachie/Italy area including spending summers with her beloved grandmother Josie "Maw" White in Italy, TX. She then moved with her father and step mother Sybil Arnold to Ft. Worth where she attended Arlington Heights High School.

Marva gave her career to Catholic Charities of Ft. Worth where she rose from receptionist to Director of Human Resources and administered the Adoption Registry. She retired after 36 years of service. Marva was fiercely protective of her staff and loyal to those she loved. Marva was an example of what compassion looks like and how to be a mother and grandmother.

Marva was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Andrew Arnold. She is survived by 4 children; Charles Tarvin of Dallas, Robert Tarvin and wife Kelly of Arlington, Elizabeth Gholson of Hot Springs, AR., and Susan Redder and husband Dr. Ron Redder of Corsicana; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories 3 sisters; Sandra Horton of Houston, Cindy Whiteman of Hurst, Sybilou Moler of Addison, and brother Torby Giles of Pace, FL and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give our heart felt thanks to Trisun Care Center, Hand in Hand Hospice, Dr. Ron Rodriguez, Toula Glass, the Moore Family of Corsicana, TX and the Plocica family of Ft. Worth, TX for their remarkable care and support provided to our mother and our family.

Memorials may be made to your local Humane Society or a charity of your choice.

An online guestbook is available at and selecting the Nora “Marva” Arnold Tarvin obituary.

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Mrs. Tarvin. I did not know her personally, but I am sure that she will be missed very much by her family and friends. Understandably, losing a loved one in death is a very emotional and sorrow filled time. But please know that you are not alone and that we have wonderful hopes for the future. God takes notice of your sorrow, and he has promised us that soon, no one will lose a loved one in death ever again (Isaiah 25:8). We also have the hope of being able to enjoy life with our loved ones who have passed away in death again (Acts 24:15). I hope that these thoughts will provide the family and friends of Mrs. Tarvin with a measure of comfort.

My condolences to the Tarvin family during this difficult time. In the Bible, Jehovah God gives us hope. Acts 24:15 says, “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” Revelation 21:4 says, “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more.” Very soon we will see the fulfillment of these promises here on Earth.
